Volunteers serving together

Student-founded · Christ-centered

Serve the One who served us all.

Hands of Jesus is a student-founded platform helping Christian students find volunteer opportunities, start chapters at their schools, and grow in compassion by loving their neighbors — together.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40

Why we exist

Students want to serve. They just need a way in.

Most students love the idea of serving — but service days are scattered, sign-ups are confusing, and no one is walking with them week to week. Faith stays in the classroom. Compassion stays theoretical.

The Hands of Jesus was started by students, for students. It's one place to find real volunteer opportunities, launch a chapter at your school or church, and grow together in the kind of faith that shows up with its sleeves rolled up.

We're not asking for money. We're asking for your hands, your time, and your presence — the gifts that quietly change lives.

Founder story

Hands of Jesus began as a student-led volunteer club at Valor Christian High School. Starting with only two members, it was created to make meaningful Christian service easier for students to find and join. The founding chapter grew to nearly 100 members and organized recurring service projects, donation drives, and community partnerships.

Common questions

Christian volunteer opportunities, student service hours, and starting a school service club

Everything students, parents, youth pastors, and school advisors ask about finding faith-based volunteer opportunities, logging service hours, and launching a high school volunteer club through Hands of Jesus.

What is Hands of Jesus?
Hands of Jesus is a student-founded, faith-based service platform that connects Christian students with local volunteer opportunities, high school volunteer clubs, and church and nonprofit partners. Students can find ways to serve, log service hours, and start a school service club rooted in the love of Jesus.
How do I find Christian volunteer opportunities near me?
Open the volunteer directory to browse Christian volunteer opportunities near you. Filter by city, cause, date, age, in-person or remote, organization type, and required service hours to find student-friendly ways to serve this week.
Can students earn volunteer hours through Hands of Jesus?
Yes. Every opportunity lists an estimated hour commitment, and once an organization marks a student as attended, those student volunteer hours are automatically added to their service history so they can share verified hours for school, scholarships, or graduation requirements.
How do I start a school service club or chapter?
Visit the Start a Chapter page to launch a high school volunteer club or church youth service team. You'll get a free launch checklist, meeting agendas, recruiting templates, and mentorship from students who have already started a chapter.
Who is Hands of Jesus for?
Middle school, high school, and college students who want their faith to move — plus the churches, ministries, nonprofits, and youth leaders who walk alongside them. All service is Christ-centered but welcomes anyone who wants to serve their neighbors.
Does it cost anything to join or start a chapter?
No. Joining Hands of Jesus, browsing volunteer opportunities, and starting a school service club are free. The platform is supported by partners and donors who believe in equipping the next generation to serve.

Serving is where faith becomes real.
